# Connect NZBHydra2

Add NZBHydra2 to Kochab with your API key and default port 5076.

Canonical: https://kochab.io/docs/services/nzbhydra2/

NZBHydra2 is a Usenet meta-search indexer. Kochab uses its API for indexer health and search.

## What Kochab exposes through NZBHydra2

- **Indexer list:** internal indexers with state (similar to Jackett-style management)
- **Search:** meta-search across NZBHydra2 indexers from the control screen
- **Stats and downloads:** query stats and download history, from a toolbar action on the indexer list

## Not exposed through NZBHydra2

Indexer credentials, caps, and Hydra2 configuration stay in NZBHydra2's web UI. It does not appear in Library or Calendar.

## Before you start

In NZBHydra2: **Config -> Main -> API key**. Copy the key shown there.

## Default connection

| Field | Typical value |
|---|---|
| Port | **5076** |
| Scheme | `http` on LAN, `https` behind a reverse proxy |
| Auth | API key as a query parameter (`apikey=`) |

## Add in Kochab

1. Open **Services -> Add service** and choose **NZBHydra2**.
2. Enter your **host**.
3. Set port **5076** unless you use a custom port or proxy.
4. Paste the **API key**.
5. Tap **Test and add**.
