Terms of use.

The short version

• Two ways to buy. A one-time lifetime purchase, or a monthly subscription with a free trial. Either one unlocks the whole app.
• One entitlement. A single unlock covers every feature and every supported service. No tiers, no paid add-ons. Apple and Google process purchases separately, so an unlock bought on one store does not carry across to the other.
• The trial converts. If you start the free trial and do not cancel before it ends, it becomes a paid monthly subscription that renews until you cancel. You can cancel anytime in your store account.
• No Kochab account. The app works without registering. Entitlements are managed by Apple or Google through your store account.
• Your deal does not change. If pricing increases later, existing lifetime buyers keep every feature they paid for at no additional cost.
• You talk to your own servers. The app opens direct connections to the services you configure. We do not operate a service that holds your stack data.
• Refunds go through your store. Apple and Google handle refunds under their own policies; we cannot issue refunds directly.
• Push is provided as-is. The notification relay may have outages or change as the app evolves, but it never forwards your media titles.

The terms

Effective date: These terms take effect on the date Kochab is first published on the Apple App Store and Google Play, and will be dated here on that date.

1. Acceptance

By downloading, purchasing, or using Kochab, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. License grant

NDM Ventures grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Kochab on devices you own or control, for your own use of managing self-hosted services that you operate. This license lasts only while your entitlement is active.

3. Entitlement, subscriptions, and the trial

Kochab is unlocked by a single entitlement purchased through Apple's App Store or Google Play, as either a one-time lifetime purchase or an auto-renewing monthly subscription. A single entitlement unlocks every feature and every supported service on the devices covered by the store account that purchased it. Apple and Google process purchases independently of each other, so an entitlement bought through one store does not unlock the app on the other. The app does not require a separate Kochab account.

If you start the free trial, it converts to a paid monthly subscription at the end of the trial period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. The subscription renews automatically for successive periods at the then-current price until you cancel. You can view, manage, or cancel a subscription in your Apple or Google store account settings; cancelling stops future renewals but does not retroactively refund the current period. Price, billing period, and trial terms are always shown at the point of purchase.

4. Acceptable use

You may not resell, sub-license, rent, reverse-engineer, decompile, or redistribute the app, except to the limited extent that applicable law overrides this restriction. You are responsible for operating the self-hosted services you connect to Kochab, for the legality of the content those services handle, and for complying with the terms of any third-party service you access through the app.

5. The app and your services

Kochab opens direct network connections from your device to the services you configure. Normal traffic to those services does not pass through Kochab servers. Credentials you enter are stored in your device's secure keychain. The notification relay and limited supporting services process only the data described in the Privacy Policy. You are solely responsible for the security, configuration, and legality of the services you operate.

6. Push notifications

Kochab uses a content-minimized notification relay hosted through Cloudflare to deliver push notifications when the app is closed. Your device registers a push token, platform, and device label with the Kochab notification relay. A configured service sends its webhook request to the relay, which reads a coarse event category and discards the request body. The relay does not store or forward media titles, file names, or service content. Android receives a data message; iOS may receive a visible alert with a coarse event label. The relay is provided as-is and may be unavailable during outages or changed as the app evolves.

7. Intellectual property

Kochab, its name, design, and software are owned by NDM Ventures and its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the license granted above, these terms transfer no ownership or rights in the app to you. Kochab is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the operators of any third-party service it can connect to; product and service names are the property of their respective owners.

8. Third-party services

Kochab helps you manage self-hosted services and relies on Apple, Google, Cloudflare, RevenueCat, Firebase, Sentry, Shorebird, and other providers named in the Privacy Policy. Your use of connected services is subject to their own terms and policies. NDM Ventures is not responsible for third-party services, including their availability, changes, or upstream breaking changes that affect app functionality.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

Kochab is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. NDM Ventures does not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that it will remain compatible with every version of every upstream service.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NDM Ventures will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of Kochab. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to these terms or the app will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for Kochab in the twelve months before the claim, or twenty US dollars.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold NDM Ventures harmless from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the app, your violation of these terms, your operation of the services you connect to Kochab, or the content those services handle.

12. Refunds and billing

All purchases, subscriptions, and refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their respective store policies. NDM Ventures cannot issue refunds or modify store transactions. Refund requests should be directed to the store you purchased through.

13. Termination

You may stop using Kochab at any time. NDM Ventures may suspend or terminate the license if you materially breach these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) survive.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Dakota, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except where the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your place of residence apply. Nothing in these terms limits any non-waivable statutory rights you have as a consumer.

15. Changes to these terms

NDM Ventures may update these terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the app after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

16. Severability and entire agreement

If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any store terms that apply to your purchase, are the entire agreement between you and NDM Ventures regarding Kochab.

17. Force majeure

NDM Ventures is not liable for any delay or failure caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including outages of third-party platforms, network failures, or acts of God.

18. Store-specific terms

If you downloaded Kochab from Apple's App Store, the following also applies. These terms are an agreement between you and NDM Ventures only, not with Apple; Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. NDM Ventures, not Apple, is solely responsible for maintenance and support, for any product warranties (to the extent not disclaimed above), and for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, and intellectual property claims. In the event the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated a "terrorist supporting" country, and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Your use of the app must also comply with the applicable store's terms of service, including the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions or the Google Play Terms of Service.
