qBittorrent vs Transmission vs Deluge
What Kochab exposes through each torrent client, and which one to add.
qBittorrent, Transmission, and Deluge are all torrent clients Kochab can add as a download client. Transfers in the blended Downloads queue, status, pause/resume, queue drill-in, per-torrent priority and reorder, per-torrent speed limit, seeding ratio limit, reannounce, and Search sends work identically across all three. qBittorrent and Transmission add an alt-speed mode toggle and a per-item seed time limit; Deluge does not expose either.
Quick pick
| Your setup | Add this in Kochab |
|---|---|
| New torrent client, no strong preference | qBittorrent - the only one of the three where Kochab exposes every per-torrent control it supports |
| Already running Transmission | Transmission - same per-item controls as qBittorrent |
| Already running Deluge | Deluge - full queue control, without alt-speed mode or a seed time limit |
Kochab supports torrents, but stays Usenet-forward; SABnzbd is the primary download client Kochab targets.

qBittorrent
Best for: per-torrent control that includes a seed time limit and the alt-speed mode toggle alongside ratio limits and reannounce.
Exposes: the shared set above, plus a seed time limit, the alt-speed mode toggle, and a category list with assignment to an existing category.
Does not expose: labels, creating or editing categories, RSS, advanced qBittorrent settings, or per-torrent file trees. Those stay in qBittorrent’s Web UI.
Transmission
Best for: stacks already running Transmission. The per-item controls match qBittorrent, without a category-list card on the control screen.
Exposes: the shared set above, plus a seed time limit, the alt-speed mode toggle, and assignment to an existing category (no category-list card).
Does not expose: a category list card, full Transmission settings, peer/blocklist management, or per-torrent file priority editing; those stay in Transmission’s own UI.
Deluge
Best for: stacks already running Deluge, where you do not need alt-speed mode or a per-item seed time limit.
Exposes: the shared set above, plus a category list and assignment when Deluge’s Label plugin is enabled. Kochab collects only a password (no username) for Deluge’s session login.
Does not expose: a seed time limit or the alt-speed mode toggle, plugin setup, bandwidth schedules, or full Deluge Web UI configuration - those stay in Deluge. Connect whichever one you run: qBittorrent, Transmission, Deluge.
