Connect Transmission

Add Transmission to Kochab with username and password and default port 9091.

Transmission is a torrent download client. Kochab uses its RPC API for queue visibility and control.

What Kochab exposes through Transmission

  • Downloads tab: Transmission transfers in the blended queue
  • Control screen: status, pause/resume, and queue drill-in
  • Per-torrent actions: queue priority and reorder, per-torrent speed limit, seeding ratio/time limit, reannounce, assign to a category, and the alt-speed mode toggle
  • Search sends: grabs handed straight to the client from Search when configured

Not exposed through Transmission

Full Transmission settings, peer/blocklist management, and per-torrent file priority editing stay in Transmission’s UI.

Before you start

In Transmission: enable the remote session and set authentication if required. On many installs, Settings -> Remote exposes username and password fields.

Default connection

Field Typical value
Port 9091
Scheme http on LAN, https if your proxy uses TLS
Auth HTTP Basic (username + password) when authentication is enabled

Add in Kochab

  1. Open Services -> Add service and choose Transmission.
  2. Enter your host.
  3. Set port 9091 unless you use a custom port or proxy.
  4. Enter username and password if your Transmission instance requires auth.
  5. Tap Test and add.
