Connect Jellyfin
Add Jellyfin to Kochab with an API key and default port 8096.
Jellyfin is a media server. Kochab uses its API for session and activity data, not for full server administration.
What Kochab exposes through Jellyfin
- Activity tab: now playing streams, active sessions, and reachability, with pause/resume/stop per session
- Detail surface: live stream count and links to Activity and Library (Sonarr/Radarr catalog)
- Push: newly added media notifications. Kochab registers the webhook in Jellyfin for you when you add the service
Not exposed through Jellyfin
User/library administration, plugin config, transcoding settings, and finer remote control (skip, volume, cast) stay in Jellyfin’s apps and web UI. Kochab is not a Jellyfin remote control replacement.
Before you start
In Jellyfin: Dashboard -> Advanced -> API Keys. Create a key and copy it.

Add in Kochab
- Open Services -> Add service and choose Jellyfin.
- Enter your host.
- Set port 8096 unless you use a custom port or proxy.
- Paste the API key.
- Tap Test and add.
- Choose which libraries Kochab should include when prompted (you can change this later).
